I’d love to hear some long-term feedback. I currently have a 2017 Fiesta ST as a daily, but after a string of arm surgeries, my doctor has essentially ordered me to stop driving a manual. I was really really thinking about sampling an 86, either an older one or a new GR - but was wondering if it’s awful with an

Doug DeMuro should go investigate lol

Ah gotcha, I wasn’t paying attention - thought you were the smog dude :P

The taurus in the first pic made me dry heave.

Thanks. I think I’m 1.5 years out from my first smogging and don’t exactly know where my stock IC is... The car’s been in for service a few times and the techs didn’t notice the IC - I’m hoping the visual is just a quick glance. I doubt I’ll get ref’d the car is otherwise stock, I just got tired of constant limp mode.

Ha yeah, test driven twice - it’s not *that* great of a car. I’d rather less horsepower and weight, it feels pretty porky on the road for it’s size.

What about an intercooler? It looks stock, how hard do they check? I don’t relish peeling the front end off my car to go back to a stock IC just for a smog check, but with the stock IC the car’s in limp mode basically all summer long :|

This reminds me of when my wife said I needed to sell one of my old motorcycles, so I put it up for sale for 10x it’s actual value lol. “Sorry honey, no bites yet!”

Selling a car is bonkers right now. I have a 2017 Fiesta ST with 30k miles on it that I bought new for $17k, and I was just offered offered $16.5k from carvana. Absolutely nuts. Would’ve taken it if a replacement was reasonable right now, but near me there are just no cars to buy (that I want). I was thinking about

He’s against abortion isn’t he? Wasn’t remdesivir developed using aborted fetal cells? I could be wrong but I think I remember reading that... so, won’t vaccinate, is against abortion, is taking a treatment that was possibly created using the results of abortions.

$30K plus for a car that can’t get to Vegas is a no go.

Ew, this is like being surprised with a picture of someone’s hemorrhoids.

It’s the car equivalent of just being happy to be alive. It’s a car, and it cars. That’s it. No enjoyment, no excitement, it’s a transportation appliance. There’s a certain nobility to that... but they cost too much for the experience of driving one. In something that boring it might as well drive itself.

Pontiac Fiero. It was dent proof! It could be rebodied into anything! It could easily hold a V8 (and a v8 swapped fiero that takes an afternoon to swap was a ridiculously fun car!). They handled pretty well, were inexpensive to maintain, and in 1988.. they were finally getting bespoke hardware and could really handle.

People can have opinions different from yours.

I wonder if an LS swap would fix the maintenance issues lol.

I drove a friend’s sport because I was thinking about buying one and I just couldn’t do it. The novelty of launching hard wore off pretty quickly and the car was totally devoid of personality. I also couldn’t get over how disconnected I felt from the car, and how bad the exterior build quality was. Could fit a pencil

I still wonder who at Honda thought “Man, HDMI ports look great, lets put one on the back of the new civic”.

Glad you picked up what I was puttin’ down

The all new Stockholm Syndrome would be a great name for a Prius in grand theft auto :)
