these never stop being funny.

The walled garden approach is *why* Apple’s security is rated so highly, the privacy controls so effective, and why things move so smoothly. Any side-loaded app store analog is likely going to compromise that, as it’ll sidestep the activation/authentication/security controls already in place. Sure, Android’s great for

I’ve actually just installed Steam on a bunch of VM’s set up on a virtualization server with Nvidia quadro GPU’s in it so our IT staff could play games together during staff meetings :P

I can’t tell if I love hating the trim, or hate loving it.

Yeah I know it’s possible, just lamenting the lack of a first-party option. If Covid vaccine is available before amazon/roku sort out their beef with hbo I am going to be pretty annoyed ;)

I’m guessing you mean real, tangible differences - you gain access to the entire PC based oculus store, you gain access to steamvr, you gain access to all of the other VR apps out there. As far as the difference in the experience - you get things like volumetric fog, transparent textures, shaders, etc.

Gotta be careful moving forward though. They sent out a statement clarifying that they *will* aggressively terminate duplicate or fake facebook accounts, and also clarified that this may mean loss of access to your purchased apps and potentially your oculus hardware. A few users that created fake facebook accounts

I’m hoping whatever AR/VR stuff Apple comes out with will be fully compliant with their DEP and MDM stuff. The current functionality of Apple’s DEP and MDM is unbeatable - if I had to support AR or VR, being able to give users the same “open the box and turn it on” preconfiguration stuff would be great. Basing the

I’ll have to take a look - I don’t want to spend 100 bucks per room for a full harmony hub setup, but that remote looks pretty sweet. I’ll take a look - thanks! I have a neurological condition that makes touchscreens tough to use reliably so a reasonably priced remote with buttons is a win. Thank you for the idea :)

I have nerve issues in my hands so its really tough to use touchscreen devices :| for a company like Apple that works so hard in terms of accessibility the remote is kinda a fail :P

I haven’t tried HBO max, but I’ve sideloaded other apps and they didn’t prove to be “wife friendly” so I’d prefer a first-party solution. It’s not the end of the world, just an annoyance. Kinda obnoxious that I can still use the HBO go app to get access to some of the content, but so much is walled off without the

Yeah I was using my Harmony but one of the buttons went wonky and I have been too lame to order another. I already have a pile of fire sticks and rokus, I just don’t want to have to buy AppleTV’s for every tv in my house when the fire sticks or rokus do everything just fine. :sigh:

Good lord, more tools to further encourage helicopter parenting.

YES. I like the Apple TV but I HATE HATE HATE the remote, so I really wish HBO max would work on roku or firetv but alas... here we are.

lol binge streaming has ruined all of us, right?

My wife has been saying for years I can buy a new gopro when mine dies... I have been trying to kill my original Hero HD and Hero 2 for years now and they just won’t die :P

jeez lower decks chugs miles of dick.

lol usually not these days, its all by packages. Want xenon lights? Need the 3000 dollar “able to see at night + premium audio + heated cupholders + cooled seats” package.

If we get an EV version of a Fiesta ST/Fiat 500 Abarth with decent range but also isn’t boring I’d be interested. The Fiat 500 ev was a thing, but it wasn’t an Abarth equivalent. A small, inexpensive pocket rocket EV would be fantastic. Even an electric miata competitor. I don’t want to drive something Camry sized or

I was thinking lady gaga could kill it, while keeping the same musicality.
