ahaha - I sad laughed because that’s exactly what I hated seeing when I came out to my car. Have you ever climbed to the driver’s seat through the hatch because you couldn’t get the door open enough to get in? VW doors are 12 feet long and 3 feet thick on the 2 doors :P

Incorrect - I’m aware, but it had no bearing on my observation that certain elements had a resemblance to the other 3 cars mentioned. The new one’s hips look a lot more like a 350z than the old alpine’s, and I maintain that the front end still looks more like a del sol than the old alpine. Just my opinion

Oh for sure, it’s just on most cars they flow or blend a little better. With the alpine its almost like if you covered up all but the headlights and asked me what car, it looks VERY del sol. Same with the other bits - the toyobaru is probably the most tenuous visual cue, but the 350z badonkadonk is pretty strong.

Yeah, it has thick buns like a corgi

Well, the 2 doors had doors roughly 18 yards long. Yes, you can technically fit into one of the “compact” spots here in So. Cal, but the doors are so long, and the armrest so deep, that you can’t open the door enough to get out :P

haha yeah the association must be different outside the us

mk5 would’ve been a good candidate for doors like the RX8's, with those lil’ baby doors int he back.

To me it looks like a mix of 350z, toyobaru, and honda del sol. Not bad, just interesting. The rear haunches are 350, the overal silhouette from the front feels more toyobaru and the headlight situation feels del sol.

You were almost there - “The large hardon collider” totally works.

There are a lot of knives in that size range that are already known quantities - what sets this apart?

My grandpa used to have a really heavy blanket that he said was from his time in the army. I was just a little kid, but I seem to remember it seemed like it was many many many layers of what felt like bedsheets. The overall blanket was darned near 20lbs, but as a kid the second that blanket was on me I was *out*

Even if you have a lighter, the cottonballs+petroleum works well to get a fire going if its wet out. I keep a few plastic lighters in the disaster kit, but a firesteel too. I would hate to find out a lighter had gassed out or something while sitting in the kit waiting to be used. There are lots of ways to start fires,

My wife helpfully ran several of my good carbon steel cooking knives through the dishwasher, with the citric acid additive to prevent water spots

its so you cant see the rust :D

oh no way carpi suns are legit, but ecto cooler... that might be a bit out there. I think I remember them adding something to make it thicker and more viscous?

It lets them see how easily they can pad your interest rate so the dealership can scrape a few %.

Oh I get it, it’s fun - I just think that his list of “greatest of all time” was genre defining titles for the SNES. Megaman was better than DK though, I almost feel like if Megaman X is tier 2, then ol’ kong is tier 3. DKC had neat graphics and music for the time, but wasn’t exactly ground breaking in terms of

One of the best megaman games, for sure.
