The crushing of the case on the left side doesn’t affect the optical drive. Lefties squished the usb/ethernet side, but there was bracing every 1" or so, since it goes port brace port brace port brace. Right hand side was a 5" unsupported stretch.

I just replied to a similar question - the lefties had similar squishes but there’s a lot more bracing on the left side of macbooks and macbook pros - right side there’s an unsupported 5" stretch. Left side, its usb ports, ethernet, and a magsafe port. Lots more vertical bracing.
Yeah I’m aware of the correlation, but the lefties had a similar “squish” on the left hand side near the ethernet port, but it was much less noticeable. The optical drive opening is a big stretch with no vertical bracing, the left side has a lot more bracing since it goes usb usb ethernet magsafe (I think, without…
It’s not heat related in any way, its because right handed people pick up their computers one-handed and grab the computer by the optical drive. Because we were data nerds back in the day we kept track “my optical drive is bent” “Oh, I see that! Let me ask - are you left or right handed?”. The worst was when a righty…
when reassembling 12" powerbooks we used to put the dang optical drive tab on TOP if the logic board instead of UNDER the logic board where it started. I like to think that future genii thanked me for saving them a complete teardown to replace a superdrive :P
When the drive grabs a disk, that hub depresses downward. If a coin falls inside the optical drive slot while the hub is depressed (disk installed) it can slide through the round hole that the hub retracts into when there is no disk installed.
Yeah - get real tired of employees clocking in then heading straight to the bathroom to fire one off on the clock. I don’t want to pay someone to “offload cargo”.
yeah pretty much :D
I think the essence was, you better be ready to start working the second the clock ticks over. At that old job I saw a lot of people show up exactly on time, but not really “ready to work” - they’d clock in, get coffee, etc. They didn’t get promoted
At my first job I was told, “If you’re early, you’re on-time. If you’re on-time, you’re late. If you’re late, you’re fired.” It’s always stuck with me, and I take the same stance with those under me now. Wife, on the other hand, is hopeless. I’ve just started leaving without her :P
Alfred has a copy of the Star Wars Christmas - I checked the box and there’s no episode number there, either.
Man they missed an opportunity for applause.
THE DEAD DON’T GET DINNER
I like this edit, it’s got a much greater amount of the Flash
I would like to see how quickly unitardcyclespiceman would be destroyed by the tomb guard.
Works well for extracting information as well. 10/10, would interrogate again.
Ooooooh been thinking about buying one for the ‘cave. I eagerly await all the nomnomnominations.
