What is it that is not a poison? All things are a poison and nothing is without poison. It is the dose only that makes a thing not a poison.

My mom taught me. I do not do any “pre” cooking. Just double wrap them in heavy duty foil. Put them on the grill, cover it, and walk away. An hour later, I unwrap them and slather on the sauce. Let them cook, turning once or twice for about 15 more minute since, until the sauce becomes kind of glazed to your liking.

We cooked yesterday, because hubs has to go to work early tomorrow, but: ribs, brats, slaw, deviled eggs, baked beans, watermelon, and peach cobbler. Pretty traditional Southern menu, except for the brats.

It’s too hot to move at my house. We have laid around in a sloth-like stupor all day. However, there was Deadpool, and Pinterest, and wine. About sundown, the neighbors will all start shooting fireworks. I will be out on my porch, watching, with hearing protection and more wine....

‘Murica.

I am on vacation until July 11. Several people have asked if I have plans. Yes, I do. My plan is to wake up every morning and decide what I want to do that day. It has been way too long since I have had days in a row that I had zero obligations or commitments. Best vacation in a long time!

The ads I despise are for house cleaning products where the wife/mother just smiles while she cleans up behind her pig sty of a family, and the husband/father is just a lazy goofus with no apparent redeeming qualities. I can't stand how they stereotype both sexes.

I agree with you. I am a corporate safety person and my company works 24/7. I am basically always “on call” if there is an emergency. The government (OSHA/EPA) has time sensitive reporting requirements for certain accidents and incidents. Fortunately, I have never had one of these in the eight years I have worked in

I thought it said “naked”. I guess because it was a Kim K post?

I do believe, and I guess I am not a good Christian because I don’t judge you for not, but I will say that what happened certainly enforces my belief in the evil in this world. This and acts like this are proof of where hatred (and judgement) can take a person.

Good for you! Glad that you were able to work it out and return to school. I just flat out failed my first time (at 18), because they actually expected me to show up for class after I had been out all night partying. The nerve.

Thanks. I understand the inspiration part. When I was in my mid to late 30's, I saw an obituary in the paper for a woman who was a practicing lawyer at the age of 96. The inspirational part? She had gotten her law degree at the age of 92! Proof positive (for me) that it is never too late to become what you want to be.

I started college (on line, at a reputable school) last October, and so far I am a straight A student. I will be 52 this week, and I bombed at college in my youth. I can’t brag to anyone but my hubby about this without sounding like an ass, but you asked, so yeah.

I love everything about this woman. It’s a real shame that she’s not running for office. I would so like someone like her to be the first woman in that office.

Can’t recognize family. Must be all the plastic surgery.

One of the most important things to seek in a partner: find someone you truly like. As a person. That you can talk to. As the year’s go by, it is the friendship that remains. Careers and kids and all of that will change. Even attraction will fade. But friendship is key.

I know this is weird, but oatmeal is my go to when I have an upset tummy. Don't remember when I discovered this, but it works.

Mr. Patty and I met in 2000 on Yahoo Personals. This was very new, scary, and cutting edge at the time. I had just finally figured out that Prince Charming wasn’t hanging out at the local pub. First date: met for dinner at a nice restaurant, and talked until they ran us out of the place at closing time. I knew that

The Microsoft “save” icon is the one that gets me. Most kids have no clue what that is a picture of.

I agree with you. No one person can be someone’s everything for an entire lifetime. I love my husband dearly, and we have been married for a long time. I also know that we are two different people. We are individuals who have chosen to make a life together. I don’t think I would want to know about a random
