Have you driven an Elan? My impression from reading reviews at the time was that the turbo M100 Elan was a significantly faster car and that the FWD didn't detract from the experience.

That's about a $25K premium for a paint job.

Didn't X1/9's used to routinely stomp everyone's ass in D Street Prepared?

Everyone make sure you chalk your tires and get them inflated properly. Tape your headlights. Remove loose items from the trunk and pull out your floor mats. Obviously check your fluids. Basic pre-race stuff. I dunno how fast those four horsemen are going to be, but you don't want to take chances.

Do not feed the trolls.

I think this sort of consumer side tax credit is more transparent and smarter than propping up internal combustion powered cars through subsidies to industry.

You think America got where it is based on free market principles?

Peer reviewed research or it didn't happen. You might think it works for you, but odds are strongly in favor of it being all in your head if they can't find the effect in a large study AND THEN REPLICATE THE STUDY.

A classic 911 without classic looks and sounds isn't much of a classic 911, IMO. Once you strip the Porsche out of the Porsche in favor of stupid fast straight line speed and trashy bling there are MUCH better ways to satisfy your speed lust.

There's no debate to be had. You'll never ever find a religious person who answers anything other than "nothing" to the question "what would it take to convince you that there's no god". Let's just move along. Plenty of assholes to go around.

Rhetorical question: how many videos of people doing burnouts and launching themselves into crowds/trees/ditches have you seen?

THISSSSSSSSSS

NP! $4,500 is almost a NP for just a truly straight, rust-free shell. $4,500 gets you what will be a very rare classic for Miata money. Parts are plentiful on these things and it's just a baby with that mileage.

Scandalouss ass is scandalassalishass.

I dunno, to me it's getting there. From a quarter mile a way I bet it looks pretty damn good. It's only when you get within a few hundred feet that the minor details start to fall apart.

Calling people sheeple for buying tried-and-true products is funny.

The S38 will run for 150K-200K miles, but have you priced the cost of a rebuild or even a used S38? Terrifying. Only thing that keeps me from buying one.

Agreed, though it really was the E28 that was a handfull at the limit. I sold my E28 specifically because I was worried I'd wrap it around a tree.

I won't deny that. It'd be different.

And here's a car I got for $3K that's down 70hp but I suspect would run rings around this one: [farm4.static.flickr.com]
