I remember when Lifehacker would teach the audience how to set up a Linux-based media server on an old laptop or something. Stuff that required actual work and thinking and left you with a sense of minor accomplishment. Those days are long gone.

I do live in a quiet neighborhood. Ironically enough, all the folks out there causing problems with guns probably go through far less ammo than I do. You don’t need 80 lbs of ammo for a drive by, you do need it if you want to practice consistently though.

The collective outrage these generate on social media really do remind me of the two minutes of hate. Twitter was bad before. In a pandemic is fucking poison on people’s minds. As a general rule of thumb anything I see on social media I assume is misleading in some way, ESPECIALLY if it confirms my preconceived biases.

It’s almost like the skills that make you a good driver, athlete, soldier, et cetera, aren’t the same skills that make you good at playing video games where you pretend to do those things! Who knew?

If they had broken up the party earlier or tried to enforce social distancing, that would have no doubt been racially motivated as I’ve no doubt white folks in Florida are doing the exact same thing every weekend. People are going to be idiotic about social distancing, regardless of race. The police can’t decide…

I’ve seen clips of a trans streamer calling her out for giving the LGBTQ community a bad name by the way she’s acting.

So what exactly is the alternative? We just all wait until someone can come up with an all-powerful AI that can monitor all communication and selectively censor objectionable content? Or we keep waiting for corporations to find some magical solution that somehow makes it all go away?
