Except that is a statement for volunteers not for patients. This is the second such hospital that they’ve funded, is there evidence of them rejecting gay or trans patients at the other hospital?

Do we have any evidence that they are rejecting patients because of being gay or trans?

Carriers: “We’ve implemented SHAKEN but not STIR.”

So we are saying that we should close this charity funded emergency hospital?

We aren’t the only country I know Hong Kong’s government told their people to not wear masks. But no one in Hong Kong seriously listens to the Hong Kong government anymore.

Stop comparing raw numbers those are useless comparisons. Arizona has one third the population of Florida. When compared per capita most states are running in the same neighborhood. Personally I was surprised by this as I expected Florida to have significantly higher death rates due to the retirement population in the

Idiot that county has the fifth highest amount of infections in the state.

Florida has also emerged as a troubling hotspot of contagion, with neatly 5,600 cases and 63 deaths.

Nah they would only do that if he were mildly pissed.

From what I read these general purpose masks, at least in Asia, aren’t higher end N95 masks but basic surgical masks. Which are cheaper, easier to make, and easier to store (as they a packaged flat).

LOL you are the one spouting ideological claims with zero facts.

So the one with the facts on his side is the moron. Uh huh.... right.

There certainly can be enough masks if the government starts stock piling after this pandemic is over. The government stock piling emergency supplies isn’t unusual, my county keeps sand bags to protect people’s homes from flood waters why not surgical masks to protect people against a pandemic?

Oh I paid attention. You simply said “American capitalism is bad because they ran out of masks.” without showing how anyone else responded any better. You are an empty suit spouting ideology without any evidence.

Only if irony is expecting you to back up your claims.

The CDC may not recommend it, but there is certainly anecdotal evidence from Asian areas where mask usage was widespread that there is lower transmission rates. Though it would take nearly 100% compliance as the benefit is not that the mask protects the wearer but that it keeps the infected people’s coughs and sneezes

We talking about being prepared with PPE. Korea and China are a given because they are near the epicenter of most of the recent outbreaks. But China really wasn’t prepared as they had to stop all exports and procure all production for domestic use. That isn’t being prepared. Also take any reports from China with a

Gizmodo just redistributes other content, someone else needs to make an article like that and Gizmodo will post it. You don’t want someone who has a journalism degree to be writing an in depth technical medical article.

You completely ignore my point while bringing up strawmen, you attack capitalism without pointing out anything else that would work. In the west we have a wide variety of healthcare systems from socialist single payer systems to fully privatized and everything in between. Point me to a single western country that is

Except this has nothing to do with capitalism just poor planning by the government. Private corporations can’t be expected to deal with something that has never happened in the West in the last century. That type of long term planning is where the government is supposed to step in, as they can more easily justify
