Alas, it does not look better in the flesh. Place the blame squarely on EU regulations concerning minimum front end height for all automobiles. Low irony, considering all the opprobrium foisted on the US for its 5 Mph bumper law's effects on car esthetics in the 70's.

I wish C&D's problems were circumscribed by sloppy grammer/prose. The reality is that it long ago lost its edge, perhaps at the alter of its corporate parent. When I first started reading it in earnest in the late Seventies, it had an outlaw feel to it. It's gone grey of late, and I'm not certain what — if anything…
