Judging by the title (and the content) one of Chazelle’s main sources was almost certainly the constantly popular Hollywood Babylon, which would have been better if that book wasn’t, you know, mostly made up out of thin air. As with COVID vaccines and presidential birth certificates, there are in this case few things

Hell, the first half of Fleetwood Mac’s discography doesn’t even sound like Fleetwood Mac.

B+ feels about right, although I have the opposite feeling about the production - on a lot of those it’s more interesting to me than the melodies. I’m going to listen to Anti-Hero a million bazillion times though. But Mastermind doesn’t “immediately follow” Lavender Haze - it’s the last track and Haze is the first.

I think Howard’s first thought is that Lalo is there to kill Jimmy and Kim. It doesn’t cross his mind that the bullet is for him until the bullet, uh, crosses his mind.

The soda can thing works, I’ve done it.

Fabian fucking owned it.

The thing you have to remember is that when they originally conceived of the show, Howard actually was going to be the villain, and Chuck was going to be Jimmy’s eccentric but supportive brother. Then, partway through season 1, they realized that the characters and the performances could be a lot more compelling if

Howard is, for want of a better phrase, grinning through the pain. We already knew that he feels regrets about not hanging out his own shingle and having to play the part of his father’s son every day. Now we know that he also feels stuck in his family life. He’s powering through his life on an optimistic nature and

I don’t think I can handle this show having a completely bleak ending. It’s bad enough knowing Mike’s going to get shot by that tighty-whitey-wearing dipshit!

I felt like Mike’s “You’re made of sterner stuff” was foreshadowing, I just can’t decide what it was foreshadowing.

Real talk: Jimmy has significantly improved his Howard cosplay since the first time we saw it. I had to see him a couple of times to be sure it actually was Bob Odenkirk.

“No damn food in this safe house either, I feel like I lost about fifty pounds”

Oh yeah BCS has absolutely twisted the screws on Gus - on BB you could kind of think he was cool, what with his vendetta for his dead (boy?)friend and his general badassery, but BCS has pretty mercilessly painted him as a near-psychopath.

Yeah I think the writers had to accept that there was no credible way to get Nacho out of this fix even temporarily

The name Alvarez is new, but as a figurehead for the Peruvians he’s been a player in this drama since last year when Jimmy was ambushed with the bail money. The Peruvians are the ones with moles in the Salamanca cartel who sent the mercs to take the $7 million. They serve as a reminder that what we see in Albuquerque

Popping out of Kinja retirement to say good luck out there, and thanks for all the years of thoughtful reviews.

You mean she has to think (THINK!) about her whole life.

Shiiiiit.

You telling me Aretha Frankin has to Think! about her whole life before she sings?

And as he walked away, the fox muttered to himself “Those grapes were too sour to eat anyway.”
