This glitch seems to have something to do with 0 KB files associated with the game’s download package that somehow freak out the license-checking system. According to this thread, anyway:

If you see him start up his Gaze of the Moon attack, that is your cue to run up to him and smack him at pointblank range and KEEP smacking him even after you have taken the hit. I can’t remember if I ever stunned/parried him when he tried to pull that ultimate.
