Mirrors are refective. Stop signs are retroreflective which is why they appear to light up themselves.

Traffic signs and usually road markings are retroreflective. They bounce light back to the source rather than diffuse it (like a matte finish does) or bounce it at an angle (like a mirror does) which makes the sign appear to be luminescent itself.

My disappointment with Lost began so early because I saw so much potential for rich character exploration in the situation—a bunch of 21st century first-world humans reduced to a state of nature. But instead plot after plot and character after character went exactly nowhere.

Agree with you about Westworld but I began to hate Lost from the 2nd episode (but I’m wildly, out-of-control judgmental)

My biggest fear is that this is going nowhere and the show actually sucks. Just like everything that fraud JJ Abrams does. He doesn’t exactly have a record of fulfilling any of the potential he creates in plots.
