Eh, I can see why DSP would think it’s a shot to the head. I was at that game, and it looked really bad, especially with the crash into the boards.

Mid 20s. I graduated high school just as the moneyball revolution hit hockey and people started to use the numbers in regular features. (Not coincidentally, you could also see a drop in +/- being used as well.)

On the numbers bit- I think if I had more access to advanced stats for hockey and soccer in high school, even to about 50% of what we have now, I think I would have seriously considered trying to get a degree in mathematics. They would have been much more interesting to use than the dry numbers for AP Stat.

That was a very Swift way of living up to your name.

I disagree that this was unforeseen for three reasons:

If Adam Henrique ever wants to play beer league goalie, please, please, please wear those pads.

They’ll change what that hand is holding

One more for the hangover: the police station.

I wonder if you even need to add fat to sous vide the dark meat.

It’s always fun to survey the damage and see one of their courtesy cards.

You may be right. I had packed 5 bottles from Idaho to BWI last year, and two had cracks in them when I landed. That’s how I got to three.

Books and shirts. Mugs are okay if they have a box and/or shrinkwrap, but books are a cinch to pack.

You know what? Skip the Fred origin and just lead in with a Shaggy and Scooby movie, and I might be interested.

San Marzanos: I don’t put a lot with my sauces (garlic, basil, MAYBE onions and peppers), so they are noticeable. BUT- and this is a big but- good tomato paste can help elevate regular tomatoes.

Durant + Curry. Both can pass, Curry has the range, and Durant has the inside presence.

Detroit. We’re seeing just how bad of a decision it was for the Pistons to leave Auburn Hills.

After the way it ended, I think it’s natural to think, “What if I never get an opportunity like this again?” Injury or Adu-ing are both major possibilities, along with U.S. Soccer not getting its head out of its ass.

One problem with the Finns: because of their anti-Soviet position during the war, they took the side of the Nazis, including during the Siege of Leningrad. It makes for fascinating reading, but in a world of blunt, good vs. evil video games, that nuance (and the reasons) may be lost.

Sounds like a Wes Anderson movie summary.

If you’re going for more than a day, get a WMATA Smartrip card. It’s reloadable and works for Metro and the buses. While the District is small, the DMV around the District is on par with all 5 boroughs of New York City.
