Meh, I think Jane’s advice is reasonable. I had a high school friend that did the same type of shit, usually about her sexual exploits. I was annoyed by it until I chose not to be. I amused myself by asking follow up questions and watching her figure her stories out along the way.

Maybe they are both terrible people. But one is the perpetrator of a crime, and the other is the victim of that crime. So I’m gonna go ahead and say he’s worse.

It’s the idea of the Perfect Victim. If the victim of a crime (especially gender-based violence)  isn’t a blameless virgin who has never exposed more than 3 inches of ankle, then she is undeserving of our empathy. It’s garbage.
