Yeah, a DV class definitely would've been better. The classes and groups are different because the issues are different. They do frequently coincide, but not always.

I thought veterans’ treatment courts were supposed to be for non-violent crimes, like drug charges and writing bad checks? I like the idea of veterans’ treatment courts, but not at the expense of abused women.

Yeah, my cancer was stage IV, so I had to start chemo ASAP and didn't have time to do the egg-freezing process. I'd say not asking is the right call. If she wants to bring it up with you, then she will.
I already used it on a relative who was trying to make a “biological” argument against gay marriage. She said that gay couples can’t have children, so it is biologically unnatural for them to marry. I said, “Chemo might’ve rendered me infertile. Does that mean I shouldn’t be allowed to get married either?” *crickets*
Thanks, I like anecdotes as long as they’re positive ones. For some reason, people often tell me negative ones in a well-intentioned effort to relate. “My boyfriend’s cousin had that, and it went away for 5 years and then came it came back and he died.” Like, why on earth would you tell me that?
No, it’s cool. It wasn’t necessarily the chemo that stopped my periods, it was the Lupron. My period came back about 2 months after I stopped taking it.
I went through aggressive chemo last year at age 23. I used a sex hormone suppressant (Lupron) to go through temporary menopause to try to preserve reproductive function, but I won’t know whether it worked or not until I try to have a kid.
Many cases are successfully prosecuted without putting the victim on the witness stand, for whatever reason. Law enforcement officers and prosecutors sign up to have the job of putting criminals in jail. Crime victims do not.
