If I saw a child left in a car by themselves, I would call the police. As a bystander, it is not my responsibility to consider how long the child has been there, what the temperature is, how long she'll be gone, etc. It is my responsibility to protect a vulnerable 4yo child.

It is usually the victim's choice. Some may not feel comfortable going to the police and pressing criminal charges but still want to get their attacker kicked out of school so they don't have to see them every day. They could pursue criminal and school action if they chose to.

I'm all for minimum sentences for violent crimes like assault, rape, and murder. Drug offenses and other non-violent crimes are different.

No, my chiropractor was great. I got sick in the time period while I was seeing him and he asked me questions about my pneumonia treatment (from my regular doctor) and adjusted accordingly. He did not believe he could cure my pneumonia.
