Yes, it was tested a whole bunch a year ago. It was supposed to go nation-wide last fall, don’t know what happened there.

What? What an absurd statement. Low level developers are by and large very passionate about the industry and the projects they work on. But these people aren’t the ones making the decisions, they have bosses they have to answer to and the bosses are only after the revenue, chasing the mythical infinite GAAS. Being a

Next up, a mini game where you have to sort layers of different colors across multiple beakers.

SE anticipated selling 45 million copies of Foamstars

My perspective on this: I typically don’t replay games, unless they are the very, very top of my all-time favorite games, and even then it isn’t a given. I also don’t keep playing the same game for a very long time - I want my games to have some sort of ending, so I can move on to the next one.

Guess it’ll be a long time before I play it. I don’t want to play a game that is still receiving content. I want a finished game and that's just a few more years away.

It’s amazing how that trailer gave you nothing at all to grasp on to.

This game was phenomenal. I played it when it released on 360 for hundreds of hours. The story breaks (where you read the stories about their forgotten pasts) really catch you in the feels sometimes. This game is worth FAR more than $8.24 and is a steal at that price.

The problem with gacha games isn’t that they cost money. I’m glad to pay money for a good game.

fuck gacha. and why the hell are you promoting it on Kotaku, of all places.

It took me a minute to think this through, but this now makes perfect sense to me.

hopefully having a lot of supply on hand at launch forces bot buyers/scalpers to sell at retail price since the alternative is “walk into gamestop and it’s available without markup and without issue”

This. I remember getting up at 2 or 3 am and going online to reserve a Switch for me on Amazon and one for my son on Best Buy. Thankfully, I was able to and they were delivered day one. It would be awesome if Nintendo gave some priority to existing NSO/My Nintendo accounts to purchase one directly.

I do love the low commitment aspect. I believe they’ve crafted an experience that will demand pretty much 0 hours of my time. :P

I think Nintendo’s GOAL will be (or was, depending on where they are internally) to allow players to use the exact same Joy-cons in all aspects, with new ones maybe having reduced drift, etc as you said. I’m not sure whether they’ll be able to reach that with all the other considerations (rails, console size,

What do you mean by “enough buttons’? It has the same number of buttons as the other platforms minus triggers being digital instead of analog(why Nintendo, why?) and rumble....

Nintendo has only once previously released a backward compatible console: the Wii U. Even the 3DS wouldn’t play DS carts...

Am I the only one who wants a full Detective Peach game? I could totally see her investigating various crimes around the Mushroom Kingdom. Could even do a crossover with True Detective. Call it True Detective: Kingdom.

If the gameplay in the trailer is not indicative of the gameplay for the first 15 hours, then the trailer is lying.

Oooof no. That was an unmitigated disaster in storytelling. If you can get past the fact that half of the dialogue is in grunts and emotes, you’re treated to layer cake of tropes and a formulaic bromance with nothing interesting to say, nor any way to say that nothing interestingly (and the VO is terrible to boot). If
