John Walker DISCOVERS slow news days

Maybe new Kotaku staff did not know, but old Kotaku staff were aware:

They definitely have an uphill battle with Foamstars. It could be a different experience but based on the trailers I saw, it just looks like splatoon with foam instead of ink. If it catches on great! I just know other companies, like Sony, tried to do their spin on Mario Kart and Smash Bros and it ended up going

Sounds like a convenient smokescreen to distract from the fact that Foamstars was recently exposed for using AI art.

Im not really trying to do an “on the other hand”.”

No.  This is not the topic to try to go “but on the other hand”.  THERE IS NO OTHER HAND.  The toxicity needs to stop, end of conversation.

In a year when gaming news has been all about layoffs, generative AI, and the slow death of games preservation, it’s nice to see a heart warming story that reminds us that not all is lost and there’s still good to be found in the gaming world.

Oh hey good for Pikmin I was worried.

Sure ain’t Temple Beth Israel”

Some of these games have been out of print for a long time already.

My interest in Stanley remains flat.

The starter pack is a really good deal. Every game is a banger and it is half the price of a regular Jackbox pack.

It’s really not fine. The exploration in Starfield sucks because the planetary POIs are heavily recycled (due to the scope of the game) and traveling between them is tedious because there’s nothing interesting to see or do on barren planets.

I can see that if you are playing every spin-off. But if you only count mainline games there have been only 2 entries in almost 8 years (P5 and SMTV). 3 If you count Soul Hackers 2.

Advertising sort of does work this way. It’s not always about making you “want” what’s in the ad, sometimes it’s just putting the name in your brain for the future.

hey, do you want to watch 30 seconds of an ad and then get two hours of game streaming?”

I’ve just come to see it as: “Legendary” Pokemon are “Legendary” in the same sense as a “Legendary” piece of equipment in any other RPG. Just a term to indicate it’s the highest level in terms of rarity and power.

Articles and attention like this are the reason scams like this bring success to the scammers. Every person on Earth who has followed this game knew it was a disaster. Yet a few hours after release and Steam already has 4,000 verified purchases of folks who have taken the time to write a (negative) review.

This is just my subjective opinion, but when I see characters in western games, it’s usually pretty easy to point at a facial feature or a bone structure and go, “ah, yes, a consenting adult.” In Japanese media, the same character is drawn with enormous anime eyes and absurdly perfect skin, and they look quite a bit

Legality isn’t really the issue. Like there are still states that allow child marriage, that doesn’t make it any less ‘ewww’.
