True, corporate citizens can espouse whatever they want. But Facebook presented its “trending stories” list as somehow impartial. Apparently they were curating it *without telling anyone*. To me, they were being dishonest. It’s not a violation of journalistic ethics (as you correctly point out), but it IS douchbaggery…

It’s not simply a matter of getting ‘news’. Facebook is attempting to influence opinions as to what are acceptable views. Many people can be pressured by constantly being hit with only the “proper” (in Facebook’s opinion) information.

If it’s true, it’s not just the right wing that will be angry. People already feel Facebook is manipulative and unethical; this is just more fuel for the fire.

These articles are going a little too far at this point. He isn’t a potential nominee anymore, and as much as I like making fun of the lizard-man, maybe we need to give the kid a break. All I see in these pics are terrified children. Even if it is Cruz’s fault, this isn’t hurting just him.

agree. it’s all fun and games until you remember she’s a real kid, forced into the public eye without her consent and will some day see the way she was used by this site and many others for entertainment. I mean, Cruz is awful—so focus on him and keep the kids out of it.

Not sure if it’s fair to a kid with no say in her notoriety to make a whole blog post of pictures of her. That said, 7 is too old to be carried if the kid can walk and I would be pissed if an adult tried to carry me at that age. Like I'm not a baby, dad!
