It’s (generally) a (much) more optimized, clever, more easily integratable (and controllable) method than some of the other methods currently used.

Subsurface scattering techniques and some similar brethren of theirs, are actually quite critical to accurately and correctly rendering the eyes, so this is actually pretty relevant.

It definitely uses a form of subsurface scattering (SSS: there are a number of games on the market, for a while now, that do) in concert with its excellent PBR material setup. One thing that 1886 definitely excelled at was visuals, particularly their materials, lighting, and temporal AA.

Well, CDProjektRed are developing Cyberpunk 2077, so honestly? Probably!

Wouldn’t be surprised. It’s the kind of thing they like to do.

And I admit I would potentially kill for an HBO quality Witcher show.

This in insanely gorgeous.
Wonderfully done.

Wow.

Cool use of what looks like to be some variation of Photogrammetry done using drone photography. Very cool.

You can see some parts where it clearly had trouble getting detail/depth/the right angles.

Huh. Did not know that was a shortcut.
Thanks.

One one hand, yes, you’re right. On the other hand, it’s not the hellscape people describe, and in some ways, particularly when it comes to the handling of certain client features, is genuinely better.
It does of course enforce exclusivity as far as EA games, though, which is arguably the actual worst thing it does

I think that’s the joke.

Awh, Bub.<3

Anyone else questioning if Roy's alias of Jason might end in the last-name of Todd?
Because that's what I immediately thought of, when I heard it. And I wouldn't put them past a ridiculous, playful easter egg like that. (Much like the Wayne-tech-Queen merger reference.)

One of the greats.
We will remember you, LucasArts that once-upon-a-time, didn’t suck.

There have been some amazing episodes this season, but I would agree that overall, the execution of the arc and pacing, at times, has been one of the weakest, and this season has been the weakest of them all, taken as a whole.

He didn't build a helicarrier.

Amen on all of these points.

Don't we all.

Weirdly enough, EA actually sells their newer games on uPlay. Just not on Steam. -shakes head-
Although it still requires Origin.
But still...
