I think you'd have to be blind to make that argument. It isn't remotely that, at all. (Though the cutscenes were stylized paper-art animation that certainly looks somewhat cartoon-like.)

What you're talking about is a Level of Detail issue. It could be fixed easily by just extending the distance, or making the transition softer.

Yeah there are some problems with low-res baked shadows. But that can be tweaked and fixed in a moment. POV/FOV is also different, but that can be changed too, if one wanted to.
