I am completely baffled why people continue to put so much faith in CR ratings. For all of their proclaimed independence, they always seem to be following some agenda of their own when doling out scores. They seem to pick some arbitrary criteria as the most important factor in a rating, whether it be cars or toasters

As offensive as all things Hitler usually are, all I can think of is that this looks like something from a Mel Brooks movie

Crack pipe.

Such bullshit. I remember when Massachusetts was trying to allow beer and wine sales in all grocery stores (as opposed to only 3 per chain) - you know, like almost every other state - and the liquor lobby funded a bunch of police chiefs to do these horrible ads talking about all the under-age drinking problems that

They stole my design. I drew that exact car on the inside of my Trapper Keeper in middle school.

Sadly the old Mendon Drive-In has been having a rough couple of weeks.

Just... eww.

“To get to this point, the S4 has had a turbocharged inline-five, a twin-turbo V8, a naturally aspirated V8, another naturally aspirated V8, a supercharged V6, and finally a turbocharged V6.”

Didn’t Trump “Invoke ‘P’” on some Russian hookers a while back?

Yup. My particular favorites are the “Gates/Bezos/Buffet lost $X billion dollars today” articles when the market tanks. No they didn’t. They own exactly what they did the day before - X shares of stock. The value is less, but they didn’t lose a thing.

I know a guy who was storing one of these in his garage for a friend. It was after the company when belly up and the car was bricked, and I mean bricked as in they couldn’t even release the parking brake to move it. Ended up donating it for the tax write off I believe.

So incredibly saddened by this. The Richard E. Grant interview over on io9 the other day put Hudson Hawk in my mind and I was just thinking about him.

Damn, I know my show cars pretty well but what’s that on the upper left? (Not the Modulo, Boomerang or Stratos Zero)

I feel like if this was the concept car and then they released some watered-down, softened design that looked more traditional, everyone here would be calling bullshit and complaining that if Tesla actually had the balls to release the concept, they would have bought it.

I mean, it was an OK film but it was no Black Moon Rising

I mean, if he just said, “Fuck it, we’re gonna do this with 7 PEOPLE IN THE CAR!” I’d be impressed with that kind of crazy. His current kind of crazy, not so much.

Probably find a good CPO deal on a BMW X1 coming off lease within that budget. Lots of zip and capable enough on rough roads.

I am not sure I agree with the inclusion of the SF90 Stradale on this list, however. It uses a V8, not a V12, but it currently is Ferrari’s most powerful car”

For everyone wondering why you’d go this route over a GTI, for $1,250 you can add APR Plus which gets you to 223 hp and and 267 lb-ft of torque, plus adds warranty coverage from APR should VW object. That puts you into GTI territory with an AWD car and more cargo space.

Maybe 17 different body styles on your base platform (4-door coupe crossover?!) and excessively overpriced and over complicated enthusiast models isn’t the best strategy. Also, if you can certify yet another body on a platform, you can certify a manual.
