I am dying to try hammock camping. I think it's just the best of all worlds and allows so much flexibility in terms of picking a site, aside from that above tree line issue mentioned. I was just looking at the Sierra Madre Nube system, which looks impressive.

Mecha-Elephant?

I was scratching my head after the first Twitter pics but it looks great in these photos. I actually really like it, especially with the yellow calipers. Kudos to Jay Kay for making the bold choice, I probably would have just opted for plain old red. I'd love to see a photo of this next to a red one and a white one.

Looks like Automan updated the Countach to an SLS in that last photo.

Awesome choice! I have had a chance to see him many times and I love how he applies his current sound to the classics, but about 3-4 years ago he toured the Pleasure Principle album, playing it in sequence ('Metal' being the 2nd track) and in the original synth-only style - it was amazing.

It helps that they actually dubbed over his voice for some reason I never really understood.

Now you're just being cynical. They will totally have refreshed the livery by then.

Needed a quick flash of a pupil dilating, then it would have been perfect.

Clearly you never had to deal with a side break on a CAV Laserdisc.

Seriously, it's a beautiful part of nature. If Delta showed buffalo grazing on the prairie or Half Dome to represent the US, I certainly wouldn't be offended.

IIRC they didn't really get along with each other either., which adds to the impressiveness of the accomplishment.

And he's the craziest one of the bunch, which I guess being the shirtless guy at a go-kart track is obligatory in and of itself.

That's just Gawker Media for you. Yesterday they were calling for a boycott of Amazon on Gawker while at the same time Jalopnik and Gizmodo were listing their deals of the day, the vast majority of which were from Amazon.

Have your cousin play you one of the current performances of "Cars" (I will assume he has one of the several recent live recordings). It works just as well as a guitar-driven industrial piece as it did in its synth-only original format.

Yeah, that was a remix disc he released around '93 with a bunch of new versions of the single. He's great, and his newer material is fantastic. He played Boston a couple of months ago - awesome show as always.

Numan has certainly...

Technically an EP, not an album.

NASA discovers Shadows in space you say?

Whack jobs can be visionaries!

In 1963 Walter Schoenknecht, a visionary in the New England ski industry, tried to have the Atomic Energy Commission detonate an underground nuclear bomb under the north face of Mt. Snow in Vermont to create bowl skiing at the mountain.
