I think the grade was probably colored by comparing it to the rest of the season. Yes, this is probably the best episode of the season, but I’m not sure that merits an A. It was decent, a lot better than I expected, but it definitely felt like a ‘checking off boxes’ ending.

Uhhhhhhhhh, people on the left did criticize Obama for this stuff. They called him the “Deporter-in-Chief”. Just because you weren’t paying attention doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

A “professional” reviewer?  He is a blogger.  He might get paid but lets not act like he is Judith Crist.  Its Gawker, a site that got wrecked because it was basically a dirt rag whose editor said he would post a sextape of a 4 year old.

huh?

I gave up on this guy’s reviews last season when he complained that the show wasn’t telling him how to feel...if I wanted someone to tell me how to feel, I’d quit watching television and join a cult.

I’m neither, but I’m certainly not a libertarian. I’m registered as an independent. But nice try, anyway, Columbo.

C+? Why are you reviewing South Park if a really good episode like this gets a C+? This was the best premiere in years. The episode didn’t make a coherent point because they’re just setting up the plots. You don’t complain a film isn’t a complete package 15 minutes in, do you?

This isn’t necessarily what people are going to want to discuss the most when talking about this episode but, seriously, the vaping ban is absolute fucking horseshit and is a rather transparent example of the government being bought off by big tobacco. All of the people who died were vaping some kind of dodgy THC

It’s difficult to say if we’re supposed to view them as virulent racists who firmly believe what they’re doing is the right thing, to the point where they’ve become numb to it, or if they truly believe they’re just Doing Their Job and haven’t considered the morality of the situation beyond that.

What? You some kinda commie rooting for the reds or somethin’? The Mojo jojo’s did a damn good job of kicking soviet ass!  (And sheltering Bin laden) but mostly kicking soviet ass!

As Jesse Hassenger pointed out in yesterday’s Rambo RUN THE SERIES, James Bond also teams up with the Mujahideen in The Living Daylights

No, no it hasn’t:

in which our hero joined forces with the Mujahideen”

“How long was that thing in his lap?”

“I was a comedian who was funny enough to get SNL. That can’t be taken away.”

It was a truly awful, self-indulgent piece. You could have easily cut out the frist 500 words and replaced them with “Friends is bad.”

I’ll be the first to hop onto the “Friends isn’t nearly as good as you remember” train, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say it was awful—well, not the first four or so seasons, anyway. It was a competently written with a charming and likable cast that was a clear cut above the Caroline in the Cities and Suddenly Susans

Yeah, that article is worse than Friends ever was.

I’m actually rewatching it (early s4 right now) because it’s something to put on in the background while I do other stuff. I agree that it’s not one of the all-time greats, but I think it’s in the tier below that.

The thing about the stunt casting I love is seeing which people are STILL huge and timeless and which

I really like Matthew Perry. I’m bummed he hasn’t had more success, but I’m glad he’s seemed to turn his life around.

I loved when Monica and Chandler got together.

Is the show dated? Yes. Does some of the humor fall flat in this day and age? Definitely. Is it garbage? I don’t think so.
