Sometimes ignorance is bliss, other times it's just...ignorant

Sounds like you have pretty terrible taste in music

Band I never heard of”

Did he say “making fuck”?

You’re not impressing anyone, buddy, just making a sad spectacle of yourself. You’re actually informing us a lot more about *you* with your relentless shitposting than you are about Ed Sheeran or any other subject.

Well in this case, the chords- which are not copyrightable- might be the same, and nothing else is. Not the notes of the melody, not the rhythm of the melody, nothing. Which is obvious. you need to actually be able to write the two pieces of music side by side and see a match. There is no hope of that here.

seriously, What the actual fuck are you talking about?

I never said I was a professional, that was the other guy who made you look like a moron.

Honest question, neither defending nor attacking your argument here:

Led Zeppelin did steal huge parts of Stairway to Heaven. I never said they didn’t, because we weren’t taking about that. I assure you I was not involved in them getting away with it. I believe that it IS possible to steal music.

I don’t know, I’m noticing distinct similarities between ImmoralMinority’s trolling and other, more seasoned trolls. Nothing explicit you understand - he hasn’t used the same words or anything - but it’s a very similar vibe. I think the door is open for a lawsuit.

Decent trolling. Nothing to write home about, but meh. Passable.

Dude. Stop digging. You do NOT understand music. You’re free to enjoy it as you wish wish, of course, but please don’t endorse nine figure lawsuits because it “sounds the same!!!!” to your lay-as-fuck ear.

I’m a professional musician. The chord progression is the same but everything else like the melody (you clearly don’t even know what a melody is) is different. Phrasing is similar, (not the same) but that’s because that’s the type of phrasing that would compliment that sort of chord progression the best. That’s

It really wasn’t. If it had been, existing law and precedent would have been sufficient to rule against Thicke/Williams.

A solid position as long as you know nothing whatsoever about anything related to music or how it’s made. By that argument, Hank Williams II should sue every country musician who’s made a record since 1960 for ripping off his dad.

No, it really wasn’t. It didn’t sample Gaye’s song or have the same melody. A few of the beats are similar, but that’s about it. I’m no fan of Thicke, but that judgment was a shambles.

No it wasn’t. Don’t be dense.

The worst crime here is “an investment banker named David Pullman (the guy behind Bowie Bonds, an investment scheme to make money off of David Bowie albums)

What a time to be alive! An embarassment of riches when it comes to godawful, indefensible legal precedent that will do damage for generations.
