ArtistatLarge” being an artist, at large, would explain the perspective.  I’ve had my job for 21 years, so I certainly have a different perspective buying a new car.

“Safety isn’t a huge priority for where I drive. Besides, it’s a volvo! It’s even got a couple air bags (which I doubt would actually inflate but I don’t intend to find out!)“

It will cost you much more than a $21k new car.  Ask me how I know.

There doesn’t seem to be any cabin intrusion. It’s likely the soft metal roof made for a soft impact in addition to whatever speed was scrubbed via the last second emergency braking.

Agreed about the airbag. I’ve been in a car when the airbag deployed. Trust me you don’t want it to happen unless you are about to smash into the wheel/dash/windshield. If the guy wasn’t injured it’s good the airbags didn’t go off.

EVs would have had to have taken off in the 60s for Oldsmobile to make sense.

I drive an older 987.2 Boxster S 6MT and as a traffic light to traffic light straight road car it’s feeling more old than special.

If the Macan is as fun as the Cayman he’s not using the Cayman properly.  I’d probably agree if the Cayman was limited to city traffic, but in the twisties they aren’t comparable.

Tesla doesn’t usually have much inventory, but especially after the factory shutdown.

The $38k version is not the ‘special order only’ base standard range, but the standard range plus which is available on the website and in Tesla’s inventory.

What are you talking about? The long range has an extra motor which makes it faster.

Never respond to those letters. They’re just fishing for suckers. Don’t ever turn in a lease without priorly shopping it’s replacement with competitors.

And how exactly does that motivate Tesla, BMW, MB, Toyota, Honda, Nissan to go union in US auto plants?

Been to South Carolina or Alabama recently?  Any reason you can think of why foreign manufacturers don’t want any part of the UAW?

Sure, because a union workforce has made the domestic manufacturers rich?

“Nothinghandles better than a rented car. You can go faster, turn corners sharper, and put the transmission into reverse while going forward at a higher rate of speed in a rented car than in any other kind. You can also park without looking, and can use the trunk as an ice chest. Another thing about a rented car is

This is rare as hell, not a good deal to anyone who never had affection for this but for me it’s a cool find and worth some TLC to keep it on the road.

”It doesn’t make complete sense as the Cybertruck is far from a traditional “meat and potatoes” model, but it would likely sell better than a Roadster.”

And here I sit again with a pending comment. It’s why I usually don’t bother.

If you want to encourage discussion, get rid of the comment approvals. Impossible to have a conversation when it takes hours for approval (if ever) for each person to respond.
