First of all it is for oversize trucks - triggered by a height sensor I am sure. Isn't applying your brakes the point of a STOP sign ? Does the rest of the world accelerate at a Stop sign? Maybe that's why all the other stop signs weren't working.

Most of my experience is at Road Atlanta. So I would nominate Turn12. Blind under the bridge, high speed downhill right hander that is off camber and a gator that if even slightly touched will hurl your car into the kitty litter or the wall.

Those wingtip vortices are why there is separation of several nautical miles between planes on takeoffs and landings. Very powerful turbulence.
