I agree, which I think is what also contributed to my discomfort with their design. They looked so out of this world, but still so intelligent and, as you said 'evolved,' that for a moment, I knew I was looking at something so unique that it very may as well be something real and yet out of this world.

How they walked, and their skin definitely made me think of hands — especially for the brief glimpse of one in the dream sequence.
