Stay away from his solo album of Soul Coughing songs. It's really embarrassing.
Stay away from his solo album of Soul Coughing songs. It's really embarrassing.
It really didn't have much of a footprint on the larger scene, sadly. Still, it does seem to be weirdly placed here.
This is me learning they aren't they same person.
Whenever I heard Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation" I always think of the all the fresh-faced Freaks and Geeks posing for their school photos.
Good call!
That's like the ONE song I'd actually like to hear at their show.
I miss them both so much…
I like those particular songs. But half of the playlist is non-RK songs. I'm not saying they're the Beatles, but would you do a Beatles' playlist with more than half of it being post-Beatles work?
If I was given this playlist as an introduction to Rilo Kiley, I probably wouldn't have explored any further and missed out on some really great songs that go unmentioned here.
I read it more as presenting evidence he's not completely contemptible. In making the movie, a number of black actors were given roles/opportunities where they aren't always easy to come by. Granted, it was in a Fred Durst movie, so….
A long ways from Dr. Skoda.
After over-listening to 'Pinkerton' all these years, I definitely perk up more to stuff from 'Maladroit' than any other album of theirs. It seemed like after they played it safe with 'Green' and got their bearings, 'Maladroit' was the likely direction for them going forward. That's what made 'Make Believe' so much…
To me, Skeletal Lamping, False Priest and Paralytic Stalks are all the same album I'll never listen to again. Lousy with Sylvanbriar was a VERY welcomed breath of fresh air where I feel like Barnes kinda righted the ship. Aureate Gloom was a step away from the 'throwback' and further towards what I consider "good" Of…
Not in my house. It's actually one of my favorites of theirs.
First a gorilla, now a fox? Is there any animal an absent-minded child won't doom to death?
I read the article but didn't watch the video. Did Tony Hale say more than three things?
The article isn't necessarily advocating for the content of the show itself to change, so viewers like you aren't affected. It's arguing that if the people running the show don't do more to engage with people online (people that might not currently watch the show on tv) then might not stick around much longer for all…
I used to watch 'The Daily Show' and 'The Colbert Report' EVERY SINGLE NIGHT while they were running. That kind of informed my late night habits to stop whatever I was doing at 10 pm (central) and make sure I flipped over to Comedy Central. After Jon Stewart left, I still kept the routine. Likewise after Colbert left…
Exactly. Having a contributor there to pitch in with an ad-lib maybe a "man on the street" perspective would be great if it was used to counter a couple of headier guests. But with the current setup, the contributors are shown to be on equal footing with the guests, which, why would you want to be a guest? Even with…
I agree re: TNS panel. I think they initially had just one "correspondent" on the panel and 3 guests but now they just seem to worry about booking one guest and filling in the rest of the panel with staffers, which doesn't often lead to any meaningful discussion. It's rare when there's any kind of actual difference of…
