Both this and Philippines featured a third-tribe Pagonging (albeit Philippines let the third tribe dwindle to two rather than three), and then featured two of those players making it to the finale. For the editors, I imagine it's just wonderful— all that time spent with the losing players early on turns into a

Spencer's game reminds me a lot of Vytas' game from BvW. It's a simple three-step plan:
1) Expect to be voted out by everyone else
2) Wait for someone to make a ridiculously stupid move
3) PROFIT

It is hysterical that the major complaint of the season has been "too many Idols," and yet not a single one has been wielded correctly. (And now the special idol has even been wasted, since we passed its Final Five expiration date)

SLADE: "I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth."

"Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins…"

In Manu Bennett's voice? Very cool.

Oh dang. How did I forget Tony is still here? I should modify: Tony is the worst ally ever. Kass is second worst because she flips chronically (Spencer never flipped on Tasha or Jeremiah, his only true allies to date; Woo to date has only flipped once; Tony is still the worst).

I have a friend who watches Survivor but hates - of all people - Woo this season. Not his lack of gameplay, but his personality. I can't fathom what she thought of this episode.

Fair enough. I think scheming against Tony's alliance while still ostensibly in it (and flipping Woo), voting out Garrett (when they were allies), voting out J'Tia (when they were allies against Spencer), and voting out Sara were pretty crappy ally moves too. But the only particularly egregious ally relationship is

To be fair, Tasha is equally to blame for that decision, but she still is awesome.

I'm not saying she has to follow Spencer around like a puppy. I'm just saying that if she stabs him (and the alliance) in the back once, goes to join other people, starts a fight with those other people, tells Spencer "we're back together," giving a glimmer of hope, masterminds a plan to eliminate the biggest power

So can we all agree that Kass is basically the worst alliance partner ever? And yet Spencer will probably still have no choice but to team up with her next round.

I feel like she'd actually do really well in a returning players season. Low- to mid-level Jury members tend to clean up those seasons, since they're not obvious threats, but they did well enough to prove they have skills (which are usually even more refined on their second playthrough).

Very surprising to see the overwhelmingly negative reactions here towards Amazing Spider-Man 2, and I'm wondering if it's an age demographic thing. Out of curiosity, what age range is the AV Club commentariat in? I'm 20, in college, and talk mostly with Film majors, and the mass consensus has been that TASM2 is

Worse. It's blatant trolling.

This just in: in preparation, the Academy just gives it all of the Oscars for next time. All of 'em. Even Best Original Song.

I don't know. I think Spencer's getting a Malcolm-in-Caramoans edit, with Tasha getting the stealth winner edit (the Denise-in-Caramoans edit, if you will).

I actually love that idea. And it's just gimmicky enough that they might do it.
