I think it's because of the single-elimination format. Golf (which is probably the best comp for tennis as a major, single-player sport) can thrive with a handful of reasonably equal players at the top because, for the most part, they're all going to be playing all 4 rounds. I'd love to see Fed win tomorrow and carry it forward to a great summer circuit. Tennis, more than any other major sport, I think, really needs to have one truly dominant player to keep up North American interest (unless there's an American in the top 5ish).

I'm a Torontonian, I got that, though it's not like they were asking anything of worth. What I meant was that it was longer than the usual fluff interviews, and it was especially frustrating since I had led myself to believe the game was starting sooner than it was (which is obviously my own fault entirely).
