Rich has stated his goal is to beat the world record Model S 1/4 mile, which is 10.2 seconds. That’s pretty easily achievable in most LS-based cars.

I saw one of Rich’s videos where he recalled every time Tesla has fucked him over and he was just like ‘Yeah they have a right to repeatedly kick me in he balls, after all I have balls so I get it’. It was insane.

Captain boring has entered the room. This is cool just because its a swap. Sometimes the reason to do something is just because you can.

Oh my god, listen to that rain outside. It’s pouring!

The way Tesla treats Rich is so crazy to me, and really puts me off the brand.

RichRebuilds is a fun channel; he has done Tesla a lot of favors by showing that they are servicable (though parts are still a pain). His projects have included rebuilding salvage Model Ss, building a EV ratrod, building a EV ATV, rebuilding a BMW i8, etc. The v8 into a Model S fits well with his sarcastic wit.

I don’t get everyone on here hating on it. They took DEAD Teslas. It’s not like they were using perfectly good ones to start with. I think its awesome they’re doing this. It’s not for performance gains, but just for fun. Seems like the only thing they are hurting are your fragile egos.

Why are you bothering? Not worth the aggravation, I’d presume.

so let me get this straight. You’re comparing Aston Martin, supercar manufacturer, to frigging FCA, a conglomerate, who makes mostly econoboxes. Don’t tell me FCA sells only Hellcats...

I’m a normal person first ( you know, my blood gets hot when I see all the shit that’s going on around), petrolhead second. Basically

It’s being reported that much of the regulatory chaos was in trying to come up with words that fit Trump’s COVFEFE Standards.

Having spent 6 months waiting for a legal opinion on who is responsible if a company sells a tool used to calibrate sensors, and we train a service guy to repair the tool if it gets damaged, and if we send the service guy to a customer to repair it, and they repair it incorrectly, and them repairing it incorrectly

Investors aren’t looking at anything with Tesla, it’s just pure delusion.

The P/E ratio is currently over 1,600. Investors would have to legitimately believe that Tesla’s future market cap will be $32 trillion? 15x more than the current most valuable company?

As someone who somehow ended up in a position where I now work daily with tools used to calibrate Drivers Aid sensors...

Specially in Canada, Tesla Y is $56K, ID4 first edtion (Which is always more expensive) planned for $45K. That’s a big difference putting them in a different class.

Not even close

I think from a hardware perspective, LIDAR is the biggest barrier to entry for full self driving. IIRC the only vehicle that will has LIDAR from the factory is the Lucid Air.

Correct, I wouldn’t call it dead on arrival.

I like Musk’s vision and I am always skeptical of how optimistic and vague he is when talking about automated driving. Have they solved the whole “crashing into the broad side of an 18 wheeler” thing?
