“Nope, most systems have a lane to light mapping that either is done by premapping or by AI on the spot. Tesla has one too, but it got confused in this particular one.”
Of course they do, I never implied they don’t, but those systems rely on lights actually being in predictable locations relative to the lanes they

The idea that FSD is possible with no infrastructure updates is an insane pipe dream

I can imagine Elon having a similar state of mind as Stockton Rush. A level of arrogance that leads them to believe they know better than everyone else. These types of videos should be a warning to Elon and show that this tech is not ready, but I’m sure he’s going to push it through anyway because safety is overrated

Here comes the revolutionary, industry first, I think the stock price should double -  No Hands Needed Naptime Absolute Full Self Driving (NHNNAFSD).... (in small print *capable). Only $10,000

probably one step further. Will take credit for revolutionizing it.

extremely looking forward to the part where elon denies there was ever any doubt about using radar in the first place

My man. That’s what he’s doing.

I love my LX.  I have no idea what you are even talking about.  There is a 2 year wait on a new one.  I’m sure its a higher margin for Toyota than the Land Cruiser ever was.  I don’t see any reason for Toyota to be concerned about having two premium SUV’s in their line up.  It doesn’t make financial sense.

In Japan, I can get a land cruiser with 2 doors, cloth seats, a manual and a diesel. It’s the bronco i’ve always wanted, built by toyota. If they offered a base trim level that didn’t cost 80 grand to start, they’d probably sell more...

I still respect the guy. He did what he did to help people. It’d be different if he filed completely false claims.  For every claim he filed, he did a job associated with it.  Granted, some were unqualified claims and he got caught.  Either way, no one should feel sorry for an insurance company.

“By the middle of the decade, we want to offer our mid-engine 718 sports car exclusively in an all-electric form.”

I’m really stoked on this one. People used to say that Porsche “could never make an electric car that feels like a Porsche!” but it turns out... *Taycan.*

There’s a guy doing pizza delivery near me in one of those. Unless he’s being tipped $15+ per pizza I can’t see how the economics of it work out.

The level of entitlement with these folks means you can’t ever ask them to turn their music down or stop making wakes in no-wake zones or anything like that because they’ll just yell “OK SNOWFLAKE” and do whatever they were doing more-so and louder.

Another sort of similar area where the MAGA crowd has become loud and inescapable is power-boat ownership. I can’t stand it. Hanging out at the marina used to be a pretty friendly affair. Group bbqs and just hanging out. Helping folks with their boats, troubleshooting, or just shooting the shit. This was especially

unfortunately, trump flags, maga crap and what ever other stupid shit they need to fly have been heavily seen in “offroad” events/locations for a while and it sucks. In Michigan its pretty normal to see all the trucks in the trailhead lot flying something and if you take a look at video content from glamis or silver

Why? It only affects the 15 people on earth who can afford this. Fuck all 15 of them.

Perhaps I’ve been lucky, but in my years of going to off-roading events all over the country I’ve never witnessed anything like this. For instance, the events I go to in rural Tennessee are so excellent that’s where my fiancée proposed to me.

I wonder if that was a big part of why that was a strike, because hostile management and poor compensation were driving away talent and making life - both professional and personal - significantly more difficult for the remaining staff.

I wrote the most amazing, beautiful, insightful rebuttal to your non-comment, but it was simply too good for this world, so I’ve purged it from existence.
