Nah, I rather enjoyed it as part and parcel of the way the show was playing with the meta-narrative of sitcom tropes&ciches. 

I am genuienly still annoyed by how badly they whiffed the landing. Even the generic sky-battle would have been fine but that very last conversation between Wanda&Monica so throughly undermined everything that had been built in 8 episodes I fucking screamed.

I suspect that is what we will see years after Destiny winds down or even as a response to the inevitable (if distant) shuttering of the servers. Repackage the core campaigns, a handful of the seasonal content and sell that fucker for 70$ to everyone who already spent a couple hundred over the previous 10 years.
