The original script centered around the BOI agent and Leo was originally cast to play him. Scorscese went back after spending time with the Osage and retooled it to focus on the couple currently featured and recast Leo as the husband.

Basically, yes. He was set to start befored Covid and during the pandemic he had time to spend time and engage with the Osage and essentially retooled the whole film.

I enjoyed the Creator but after a few days of reflection I am viewing it as a fairly vapid film that absolutley failed to capaitlize on the groundwork laid in the first half. The war imagery and non-verbal condemnation of American imperialism was good, the tech design was awesome, their were good actors and talented…

I would say “different” and the gap absolutley allowed season 3 to shine so bright. Giving all the characters time to breathe before bringing them back into conflict with each other.
