I did not play Valhalla but my understanding is it is appreciably bigger&longer but not double the size or anything.

I can say this, the demo is the high-point of the game, tricked me into buying it. After that, the story only gets simpler and less complex, with nothing resembling depth or character motivations.

For me there were 100% need for the dodge ring, as I quickly got tired of trying to read “moves” through the particle effects.

Nah, it is just a bad game. A lot of us just see that, since we literally suffered through the game.
