Oh you're not harshing at all. I've pretty much lost all faith in Sonic Team going back to Sonic Heroes and they've never given me a reason to restore it since.

I mean, this looks intriguing and all. Not to harsh people’s vibes, but...brought to you by the team that made Sonic Forces.

Get in the cyclone, Tails.

The people who Netflix needed to watch it, but didn’t watch it (typical viewers) have mostly not encountered these ‘toxic nerds’ and definitely don’t care about their opinions. They don’t live in that particular internet bubble.

By...not watching it?

It was a truly terrible performance.

Plus, y’know, they can charge money for it.

Now playing

Sigh. Literally every single point you have made is wrong because you fundamentally don’t understand how any of this works. Let’s go through them.

So you seem to be of the assumption that without this guys reviews, people would need to pay for a boxset to watch One Piece or Dragon Ball? “Oh, Mark’s reviews are down, guess now I’ll actually have to buy all of One Piece since there’s no other way for me to see clips of this show.”

This bundle is an insane 15$ and locked to only use on one armour core. I don’t know in what world kotaku thinks paying a quarter of a AAA game for some daisies that are locked to armour you might not used is cool to make an article about.

you have to buy the credits on the store. 5000 credits is 60 dollars. So that teddy bear is over 15 dollars LOL and this article is praising this system. for 15 dollars in league of legends you get an Epic quality skin.

Is weird because I believe Toei had tapped Mark before to do some promotional work on so on some level they are aware of him

And that’s the key issue for me - this isn’t some hobbyist’s passion project, but a fulltime company trying to profit off of other’s work. Toei is going after this company in the same way Marvel and DC don’t care if you sell your own fanart at cons if you’re just some individual with a passion for the copyrighted

Ever watch At the Movies with Siskel and Ebert? I know, it’s a super old show, but given that I don’t watch too much of this kind of content it’s really my touchstone for this and has been influential for a lot of people in the review space. That was a big production - in fact, an actual TV show - and did use entire

But then why flag the how to draw videos as well when they don’t show any footage? These were all claimed to be manually flagged and not things caught up by a bot flagging tags or similar. It doesn’t make any sense.

Copyright is such a mess. YouTube and Twitch an other platforms are a mess in how they handle things. Especially DMCA issues. Everyone is happy to have a person pour years into something and profit off them and then rip it away when someone else makes a sometimes unsubstantiated claim.

There’s no way this modchip was bringing in tens of millions of dollars.

Curious what the math is to make you think a mod chip earned more than $10m profit....not revenue.....profit?  Seems unlikely that something so niche would generate that much....

So, you’re just a regular ol asshole that wants things to just stay the same because you pulled your bootstraps hard enough so you think everyone should do the same.

This is an intellectually dishonest take and that’s me being generous. Earning money off of borrowed money is free money. No longer having to carry a debt is not free money.
