Yeah, there’s no way a handheld console can run games in 4k. It doesn’t matter what hardware is in it, the power (wattage) requirements and thermal throttling will take away any potential gains. It’s a problem for performance laptops and ultrabooks to this day, you can’t run high performance graphics on battery power…

Focusing on 4K is a colossal waste. Focus on framerates, more complex simulations, higher player counts, ANYTHING but fucking 4K. Breath of the Wild looks just fine on my 4K set thanks to decent upscaling, and I would be perfectly contented if the next Switch remained a 1080p system.

Unfortunately, the battery life is about 15 minutes.

Huh, I wonder how useful 4k support will be. I doubt developers were bundling 4k textures with their switch releases up to this point. I imagine older games will need updated or to release texture packs to really benefit from this.

My sister at 9 was definitely left watching me at 3. This was '80, '81, and she did it for years. Some kids grow up faster than others because they have to. They shouldn't be underestimated.

I think I was 6 or 7 when my parents started leaving me home alone. Hungry? Whip-up a box of Mac ‘n Cheese or make a sandwich. Bored? Watch TV or go ride your bike. Surviving as a kid isn’t exactly rocket-science. Here in NC, having your 9-year-old taking care of their younger siblings is the norm.

I think my oldest brother was 8 years old the first time my parents left us home alone. But then I’m a Boomer, and running around unsupervised was pretty much the norm.
