The rules are there as a guide, and a DM can bend them if it makes things more interesting. It just sounds like you didn’t have fun with it, and that’s okay. D&D plays out more like a turn based strategy game with extremely intensive RPG mechanics- that can be a hard nut to crack for just about anybody. The appeal,

It changed a significant amount under the hood.

The thing with Dragon Ball Z was from before Pokemon ever came to the US.

I used to wake up early on the weekends in order to see Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, and a show I don’t remember now back in 1994 or 95 or so, airing on, I think, Fox. 7AM every Saturday morning. I also recall seeing the OG Dragon Ball around that

I’d be fine with Smash 4.5

Smash 4 was extremely good in all the right ways, and I don’t have issue with bringing over the same cast of characters, plus more stages, characters, items, etc., along with balance adjustments.

I’d much, much rather see Smash 4.5 than another Brawl.

I’m expecting right wing talking points because this seems to be spurred on by the NRA, as this whole video game thing was brought up during a conference in which Trump regurgitated a lot of the NRA’s talking points.

You are probably correct, though, especially back in the 90s. The whole, “Think of the children!” thing

I’m not expecting anything even remotely sensible.

I’m expecting right wing talking points, arguments that we put to bed back in the 90s, and for Trump to do nothing but spout completely nonsensical, irrelevant bullshit the entire time.

Not all games are for everybody. I love a solid beat ‘em up, which is why I love the Bayonetta games to death, but if you’re wanting a more open experience I suppose there’s always Nier Automata (in which Platinum only designed the combat; the rest of the game was made by a completely different team).

Bayo 2 is four

I really liked the first game of this; I played it so much on my 360 that I got my roommate into it.

I’ll still never forget him basically raising this one female character with all these great skills, and he jumped out of a car to go inspect something and this werewolf-looking-ass zombie jumped him in a shed and

I see what you did there.

Also your name is perfect for this comment. Well done.

Yeah, I knew about that, though I was not aware it was because I collected enough tracks. It happened almost every single time I fought a monster save the first time, which I already thought was super handy.

I just never paid attention to the little heart rate monitor at the bottom. I click the right stick and then

Holy shit, I’ve captured monsters in something like 200 quests and not once, not fucking once, did I realize that the heart monitor at the bottom of the screen showed anything about the monster’s health. So the when it gets close to a flat line, that’s when they limp, eh?

Is it a conspiracy theory? I thought it was solidified as fact now.

Ever since someone made me listen to a specific portion of Carnival Night Zone that directly matched the trumpets in Jam (or whatever that instrument is), plus the sound at the end of those notes sounds almost exactly like a digitized vocalization of

I mean, Nintendo has literally nothing to do with XX or Seiken Densetsu’s collection coming Westward, though.

Capcom and Square-Enix are the ones we’d need to pester about that.

Though, knowing Capcom, they’d do something strangely shit like putting 1GB of the game on the smallest game card and then forcing Switch

Your lance is powerful. And, er, masculine. Unless it’s feminine, of course.

The dual blades aren’t bad at all, but they can be incredibly taxing on the player when you don’t know the monster’s attack patterns very well. Diablos is big on quick checks and charges, so if you over-devote, then you’re gonna get smacked. Roll through his legs and stab at his calves (or whatever. Cankles) from

I think I got Tobi being Zinogre’s replacement by the fact that Tobi has stole Zinogre’s overhead tail smack into electric burst attack wholesale.

Now that you mention it though, he does have that sideways tail swipe that comes out quick, like Narga/Tigrex. Good point.

I would also be down for that, by the way. Gravios

I did not insinuate that lances aren’t mobile- the charge is the definition of mobile. However, by no definition of the term is the lance more mobile than the dual blades, lol.

And yeah, what I was saying is that if you move straight toward Odogaron, he winds up missing you a very good percentage of the time because he

What weapon do you use? Anything with a shield trivializes Diablos pretty hard, especially the charge blade (his whole thing is “highly telegraphed, huge hitbox attacks” that can be hard to dodge if you already committed to an attack against him, but CB can guard point every single one of his attacks and then fire

Yeah, Xeno was pretty terrible. Bloated HP while playing, “The floor is lava” for 20 minutes isn’t exactly fun lol. Notwithstanding that you spend most of the time chasing the bastard around the arena if your brought your Palico with you (he can *turn* and force you to sheathe your weapon and give chase due to his

A lot of the new monsters share attacks with existing monsters. I can’t even remember an attack that Radobaan has that Uragaan doesn’t, honestly, lol. Zinogre was 100% a better fight than Tobi Kadachi, too.

I was also really disappointed by Odogaron because his attacks seem to consistently miss people who are standing
