To me Chris has had a fairly linear and understandable design progression until RE7 threw it all off, and RE8 seems to be a return to form. I like it! I’m happy. Nintendo’s very different and experimental consoles for a while, but the Switch is the first one I’m like... just give me a Switch 2. They’ve landed on something here. Yeah I booted up the SNES classics and couldn’t help but to immediately open super Metroid and play half way through in a sitting, it's just that good.

I would have a lot easier time putting up with the bland soundtrack if it wasn’t replaying the same few tracks everywhere. That overworld theme, and wow wow that battle theme, ugh. I feel like I’m listening to the same 3 tracks played on repeat.

I really hope they get around to a collection of the gba and ds games. I know the ds games would be difficult due to the second screen but it’s getting harder and harder to replay those games legitimately and I’d love to have a way to do it. Switch handheld mode seems like a swell fit.
