I’m replaying Remake right now ahead of Rebirth and one of the common criticisms of it is that there’s a lot of added bloat to stretch the game out to feeling like a full length game, and that’s simply true. Even when skipping all the side quests there’s a number of detours in the main quest that weren’t there before

This was honestly the highlight of the evening for me. :D

I loved RE4's remake, but no other game I’ve ever played had me and my wife both bawling as much as FFXVI. FFXVI had some rough edges and I won’t deny that, it probably doesn’t deserve the award per se, but it absolutely deserved the nomination over RE4. Even gameplay wise, the many, many incredibly well-designed boss

Wtf happened to Cloud...

This would be a very quick way to kill Unity, if that’s their goal

I’m interested in both, but yeah, it’s been way too long since I’ve piloted a kick ass giant mech :D

For myself personally, Henry Cavill leaving makes me wonder if I should put in any more time getting invested in something that seems like it’s probably a sinking ship...

I’ve been playing Final Fantasy since the very first game. XVI in terms of setting and storytelling feels like what you would get if you did a modern sequel to the storytelling direction of FF1-5. It feels VERY nostalgic to me. The only thing it’s doing differently is its combat design, and the series hasn’t been

I hope you didn’t really slip a massive FFXVI spoiler in to this article I had no reason to expect there’d be a damn spoiler in for a game that just came out a few days ago

Hear, hear!

FFXII is one of those games that had an incredibly strong core creative and vision, but didn’t have the chance to come together 100%. I still love it as one of my favorites in the series despite its shortcomings though.

This looks like the sort of thing that’s going to break so often they’re gonna have to hire whole new teams just to fix all the shit that goes wrong..

I’m in full support of emulation but it honestly makes sense that featuring it on an official storefront crosses the line, and it doesn’t stop us from getting emulators the usual way...

Haha I must have gotten lucky cuz I just followed the quest markers and went to the shrines in what seemed like a reasonable order and finished it in a couple hours during my first sitting. I’m wondering if I missed a bunch of stuff now? 8D

Literally every sector of generative AI is raising concerns over a myriad of issues concerning this stuff, from data privacy to copyright, to a very real likelihood of putting *hundreds of millions* of people out of work using software built on the backs of *our own stolen data*. It is *absolutely* ethically dubious,

So long as it doesn’t die in like 5 minutes like every PS4 controller I have that’s fine. 8D

I appreciate the shout out to Star Ocean even though it didn’t quite make the list (understandably)—but it was a solid game in the end and I hope Tri-ace manages to squeeze enough sales out to survive.

I have the Hori Split Pad Pro and think it’s absolutely brilliant for handheld play. It almost completely fixed my issues with getting tendonitis using the normal JoyCons, and of course I don’t have to worry about drift issues anymore (I had gone through like 4 sets of JoyCons before getting this, now I’m doing just

An additional tip to go along with your auto-attack tip: if you click the right stick while moving during battle, your character does a short dash in that direction. You can use this to get in auto-attacks while changing positions for arts more easily. If you time it just like a Cancel, you can auto-attack>dash>auto-at

Gonna second this!  Best decision as a Switch owner. Also eliminates the Joy-con drift issue.
