I simply no longer see any point in arguing about whether they rotoscoped or not because I’ve presented evidence to the contrary and your response is, “nah I don’t believe it”. I can’t convince someone who won’t accept evidence.

Hehe, I don’t have anything to prove. I’m doing alright. I’m defending the integrity of my fellow animators, who work their butts off at their craft. I work with many animators both locally and overseas, and they are easily the hardest working people I know. They love their craft, and put everything in to it. I would…
That’s because, again, they’re only using the 3d model as a general reference. It’s not meant to be traced, just a guide. Why be so dead set on discrediting the hard work of fellow artists? Anyone who’s been in the trenches before would never call this “lazy”, rotoscoped or otherwise. Rotoscoping itself is no simple…

Myself and my studio has done stuff like this for complex camera movements. This isn’t a new or original process. You place a basic 3D model to plan your action then reference it for positioning, scale, and sometimes basic posing. It’s especially necessary if your characters are moving through a 3D background.
I’m not guessing here, there’s clips showing their process online:
It’s a solid series, but it had some quirks. I had issues with some of the editing, which tended to be too quick, causing dramatic scenes to lose their edge as they frequently cut away to comedic elements as though they were afraid to let the viewer soak anything in for longer than a second. I also wish Yurio was…
They animated very basic 3D models to choreograph their routines then hand-animated based on the 3D guide. The guides are not polished or something they could trace over, just a starting point. The vast majority of work was still left to the animators. I’m a professional 2D animator, myself, and I can tell you what…
It’s not really good design when you have little control over your party’s position. Other than regroup, you’re stuck waiting till the dumb dumbs move out of the way.
Paid DLC that changes a core design function of combat is kind of bullshit. Turning off magic friendly fire shouldn’t be blocked behind a pay wall; if they’re unsure of their design decision to make magic harmful to your party, they should either make it available to everyone or cut it from the game, not release it as…
FFXV has me incredibly frustrated and torn. I’ve enjoyed my time with the game, faults and all, but looking back on everything they showed us, even things they showed us within the last 3 years after they started over, just drives home the insane amount they cut from the game. That 2013 trailer is a perfect example.…
I never finished the game, but every one of those short stories made me sob like a child.
Rock Lee inspired me to work harder to be a better artist. I wish I was joking.
Stop and frisk disproportionately targeted black people in NY and has been highly criticized. Trump didn’t get the memo: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/22/us/politics/donald-trump-don-king-black-voters.html
$100 price difference is surprisingly small. If I didn’t already have a PS4, I’d get the Pro just cuz the price difference isn’t all that huge and I have a little expendable income. And I’m sure developers will better utilize the Pro’s extra horsepower once they get familiar with it. That said, without a 4k TV, the…
I think you did.... sort of defeats the purpose.
Only issue you might run in to between the 2DS and 3DS is portability. 3DS can fit in your pocket, but 2DS is a little clunkier to carry around.
If the NX is a tablet with the next-gen Tegra GPU as the latest rumors report, it will be the most powerful tablet on the market for gaming by a wide margin. I don’t know that I’d call that “under-powered”?
I’m really on the fence about Star Ocean. I’ve enjoyed the series and want to support Square keeping it going, but that damned character with the checkered pattern outfit with skin showing through every other square is killing me. It’s just awful, and tells me other awful design decisions have probably been made…
I always really want to play Kirby games cuz they’re super cute and the mechanics are clever, but when I do actually play them they’re usually so crazy easy I can’t muster any enjoyment out of the clever design. I wish developers for kids games would give the kiddos more credit; they usually pick things up pretty…
