What if Nintendo’s next device is actually a Smartphone? .....

The lack of local multiplayer options is a bit disappointing. At the very least, it would have been nice to allow 2 players to enter online matches together. Also, 4 player split screen is an itch I was hoping Splatoon was going to help scratch... Oh well.

I work with a guy who goes by Kilt Patrick. Obviously because he wears a kilt every day. He also generally looks like a viking.

Watch this all be an incredibly elaborate marketing ploy by Kojima. I wouldn’t put it past him.

I know no one who has bought their amiibos for gaming purposes. It is entirely because they want to collect the figures.

If I had to take a guess, this is more a publicity thing; Nordic is probably trying to get Darksiders back I'm people's minds after a long hiatus, possibly gearing up for a sequel announcement? One can hope, at least, I did like those games. :)

Playing emulated smart phone games doesn't work terribly well with touch screens, though, particularly platformers and action games. I don't really see it working all that well for the majority of Nintendo games, and Nintendo probably sees it that way too. Smart phones need games made for touch screens (at least

We play 8 player for our breaks at work all the time, and while it never feels "competitive" in that there's a higher level of randomness, we've all become used to the size and scale issues and it's quite a lot of fun for us. The main thing is we have 8 damn people all in a room yelling and cursing and having a

This is all 100% exactly right!

It really is sticking out like a sore thumb. If they just hired one dude, just one dude whose entire job was to do face fixes before release, it could substantially improve the quality of their product.

I very nearly dropped the game because of that ridiculously long tutorial section, too. But I stuck with it and actually really enjoyed it. It does take a while to pick up, though. It has a slower ramp up but gets to be fairly dense with fun later on, relative to other MMOs at least.

I learned "zealot" from Star Craft. But when I first played it, I thought it was a fancy alien Protoss name and pronounced it "zeel-aht".

Yeah, I know from experience one of the first things to go when running (particularly h.264) compression is your contrast levels. That seems to be the biggest difference in his adjusted screenshots.

This is certainly true. There is definitely a "right" way to do DLC that not all developers adhere to. But Nintendo has been pretty good about it so far, and it does help improve the longevity of competitive games to release periodic updates or new characters. So long as it's for that purpose, of supporting their

Looking at this, I wish they'd gone with a more stylized rendering style than the odd semi-realistic-but-not-quite-there thing Platinum usually does.

Geez, they're not even trying. At least in Jojo's they blur out the weird black spots, heh.

I prefer 30fps for cinematic action /adventure games and whatnot. But 60fps is pretty necessary for anything competitive.

Might be fun to see 4v4 team matches between two consoles.

Naw, I'm at Powerhouse Animation. :)

I work at one or the rare 2D animation studios left in the US and it is incredible how often I have to explain exactly that to people, especially other animators! They should all know better by now. It's amazing anyone is doing traditional animation with the budgets we have to work with for TV animation.
