I know these folks don’t tend to think logically

The vast majority of people talking about ‘the economy’ have absolutely no idea about even the most basic principles of eocnomics. Economic and statistical literacy need to be taught at a fundamental level in schools.

Someone just push me in that Keebler-looking fool’s general direction. Because I’m out of shape, I’d stumble & fall on him and it’d take me at least 5 minutes to get up. And, because I’m roughly the size of a barge, I’d squash his little twerp ass like a bug.

Of course! *winks* I would never trip lightly through his DC neighborhood on a beautiful early summer day whilst hunting butterflies and manage to stumble into his garden and accidentally encounter him. Never, never....

It was and it wasn’t hyperbole.

You can think that if you want, but when Jeff Sessions turns you into a cinnamon snickerdoodle or a coconut trefoil and puts you in a jar on his desk you will regret your sneering at cookie elf magic.

Same goes for water usage. Having a lawn? Take long showers? Leave the faucet ruining while you brush your teeth? All negligible compared to eating meat.

I would prefer my tax dollars going to help people instead of to our overly large and well funded military.

Or when people are reduced, or reduce themselves, to the role of ‘taxpayer’. Like the ‘consumer’ version of belonging to a country. Citizen suggests to me responsibility to and engagement in the country; taxpayer denotes to me lazy ‘the customer is always right!’ bullshit, like a nation is a fucking company you’re

It’s not an accident. The environmental impact of meat and dairy production is a common reason people become vegetarians, or at the very least avoid beef and dairy. Many are driven not by ethical concerns, but environmental ones.

Depends on your fish I suppose.

Seems like the potential ecological disasters from overfishing would be a bigger problem than the small percentage of greenhouse emissions from beef, but what do I know.

SF is crazy now, people come in with so much tech cash and nobody cares that the prices have doubled.

Vat-grown meat can’t come soon enough. There are about a hundred reasons why it’s better and only one why it isn’t*. Unfortunately that one (texture) will trump the others until it’s solved.

I remember an online quiz that asked “Which of these 10 things would reduce your carbon output the most?” It had things like “Turn off lights when not in the room”, “Fly less”, “Buy a hybrid” and “Recycle” - things people usually think of. Turns out #1 was: “Eat less meat” - which virtually no-one got. #2? “Insulate

The U.S hasn’t worked by the old economic model since Reagan’s “supply-side” (voodoo) economics.

Why the fuck are you eating at Subway? There are so many other sub shops to hit that make food that doesn’t taste like ass.

Well that’s very interesting. I’m not sure I can cut out burgers and cottage pie completely, but maybe I can cut back. Ground beef is the only way I touch beef anyway, as I don’t like steaks and such.

They’re testing feeding cows seaweed and it could reduce methane by 99%.

The difference between beef and chicken is nearly 100% more impact:
