It has a really nice magic system. I also like a lot of the background history for the setting. There is a lot of junk though as others have pointed out.

Fun fact: I'm pretty sure the TV show Bunheads fails the Reverse Bechdel until something like episode 14. Bunheads is still awesome and I'm not trying to imply it has an ounce of sexism.

I've always thought Crossroads of Twilight was brazenly terrible. The whole book is a flashback that takes place concurrently with the last few chapters of the previous book. Its like a real life version of the awful book Chevy Chase writes in Funny Farm. KoD at least had a few good moments.

My favorite parts were when everything fell in and out of focus intermittently throughout the pilot. I imagine the director was trying to reflect the tenuous nature of reality after the overuse of Balefire during the last days of the Age of Legends. Or maybe everyone involved was a worthless hack.

You should finish it up. The last three books are solid and you owe yourself after having plowed through 7-10.

After having the rights for 13 years, I liked how they tossed this garbage out two days before their contract ended. Stay classy Red Eagle.

I'm an episode behind or I would join in. So far I feel like this show would do better if it were from netflix and you could binge watch it all at once. None of the first three episodes feel like self contained episodes, they're more like hours of television.

Its very difficult to get a conviction with a recent crime and becomes almost impossible going back years. I'm not sure what good it would do for him to be found not guilty on everything in court especially when he is guilty. Better he just live in his hole the rest of his life.
