It sounds like the kids are having a spirited debate. They are clarifying their personal values. They are engaged in critical thinking.

...I thought fish farms were a pretty crappy existence for fish.

Do a crossover where the English class reads Lord of the Flies and you have a deal!

Tilapia’s not exactly mouth-watering to a bunch of kids. Put a pig in that room, grill up some eggs, and watch things get real.

Your experience isn’t necessarily everyone else’s. And I say that as someone for whom IUD insertion was relatively painless. Different bodies react or respond differently to different things.

I really hope after he said that you “aborted” that relationship.

For sure. More options are great, so I don’t know why some people are against it because “men will just lie” or “women won’t trust men and will stay on the pill/IUD”. For casual stuff that can make sense (though this gives men more control than having to rely on just a condom), but in a monogomous relationship with

This study bears out what I said. As long as I stay away from junkies and anal sex, the likelihood of me contracting HIV is .03%. I'm not saying don't wear a condom, but the worry of getting HIV isn't what would worry me if I went bareback. Everything else is statistically more worrisome.

Yeah, you can get it from vaginal sex, but you need an opening to transmit it. Assuming you don't have an open sore, it is low is pretty low percentage. Still a risk factor, but not likely.

IUDs can get expelled, that’s what she means by the term ‘rejection.’ It’s definitely a thing that happens relatively frequently so there’s no need to be condescending just because she used a slightly improper term. And why would you think she had an allergic reaction to it? That’s much less likely than a simple

No. The uterus will expel an IUD the same way it expels a baby or a period.

They get expelled. An IUD placement is no picnic.

Of course IUDs can reject. Happens to about 5% of folks that have them inserted. The uterus expels it back out again. They can also perforate the uterus (very rarely). And honestly having had needles in and around my genitals, and (separately) having had an IUD inserted, I’d take the needles.

The local anaesthetic needle in one’s vagina to get an IUD suggests otherwise. And the speculum plus insertion device go up there too.

Yeah as someone who has gotten the procedure done I am well aware of how it works. It is still a painful procedure and this is coming from someone with a high tolerance for pain.

WHAT.

The moment I meet my very short, balding blind date, he skips the introductions to say this:

I’m confused. Is this the one that hated the Estee Lauder make up...Jamie? If so, I think she’s got it all wrong. This looks great on her.

But God forbid we have ‘unhealthy’ peanut butter to go along with our starchy potatoes and bread!

Bread to go along with the potato? Say what now?
