Yeah! It’s not pretending the horrible things don’t exist or matter. It’s reminding ourselves that lovely, comforting things exist, even when the world feels horrible and sad.

Why the hell not? Some of us have family there. Just because we’re looking at animal pictures to remind ourselves that the world isn’t entirely a hate-filled cesspool doesn’t mean we’re ignoring the horror of the situation.
