Half of the officers on any given police force are the very same maladjusted bullies that terrorized their peers throughout school. Yes, plenty of them do wake up in the morning itching to kill somebody (ideally a brown man), because they know this country will let them get away with it.

I just finished up Stardew Valley. Or more correctly, I had to finally part ways with it because I’m never going to dig up all those museum artifacts.

Yeah, I support the LGBTQ community and everything, but I’m waiting for something concrete before I form any sort of solid opinion on the new game. The teasing pictures and Vincent’s reaction shed absolutely no light on the topic.

I hear what you’re saying. Personally, I loved the fact that the game took its time and I wouldn’t change a thing, but it’s made it difficult to convince some of my friends to soldier through the first half.

This is great. There’s still nothing else out there quite like Catherine, especially on the console front. It tackles subjects that most games shy away from or gloss over, and it does so with a sense of style that nobody but Atlus can pull off. Definitely going to pick this up.

I love casual outfits on characters that otherwise dress pretty outlandishly. It would be great to see more of the cast get similar treatment.

I know, right? The game already has a built-in function that groups you up with versatile players who are willing to synergize and work as a team, and it’s been there since the beginning. It’s called “get five friends together and queue up as a six stack”.

If people know exactly how the system works, they’ll be more likely to try and game the system.

I’m glad that you personally believe in “live and let live”, but please keep in mind how your actions may consciously or unconsciously contradict that motto. For example, I’m sure you’ve voted for more than one elected official who seeks to deny the LGBTQ community the same rights and freedoms that you enjoy.

Most professional athletes can’t offer anything more substantial than a rambling “Uh... it feels good to win,” when they’re interviewed. And those guys are trained to talk to the press.

I’ve never been a fan of removing stuff from a game that an adult might enjoy, simply because a child might stumble across it. In the same way that I believe it’s parents’ responsibility to police what games their kids are playing, and not the government’s, I also believe that parents have the responsibility to

Don’t get me wrong, I’d be fine with a best case scenario like that. It’s a little more boring than the current system, but it’s fine. However, with few exceptions, every piece of content in Overwatch can be obtained for free, and I’d rather not see them shift to a model where you can only get cosmetic items with real

With the exception of a few Blizzcon palette swaps, every bit of in-game content... heroes, maps, game modes, skins, etc. can be obtained for zero real world dollars. I’m a fan of that. I’d rather not see Blizzard go, “Oh, you like these Christmas skins? Five bucks a pop.” like so many other games do.

No.

Indeed, I’m aware that most successful games use the same tactics, so what’s the solution here? What’s the compromise? Make the loot box opening animation boring? Get rid of the randomness entirely, even though it’s part of the fun and appeal to some people (even those of us who are immune to its effects)?

I fully understand that there are terrible loot box systems on the market right now. But I also believe that there are games that implement them quite well, and they only pose a problem if you’re a whale or a child with unrestricted access to your parents’ credit card.

Nope, there are plenty of games like that in Japan. Some cater to niche interests and some can get pretty dark, but if you do your research ahead of time, you should be able to find quite a few that fit the bill.

Yep, not to mention you don’t have to pay a penny for them. I’ve gotten hundreds of hundreds of loot boxes for absolutely free. Actually, I got them in exchange for having fun in a game that I was going to play the hell out of anyways.

I took the very first part of BenTenpenny’s comment to mean that these people have a problem that’s bigger and much further reaching than whatever amount they spent on the game, not that they shouldn’t seek a refund. I absolutely believe they should be refunded.

Your argument is solid and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Sure, what these people buy doesn’t affect you and me directly, but their continued support for these shady business practices mean that those practices quickly start to become the norm. We’ve already seen this crap seeping into full price single-player
