Even in our present “dumbass level pricing” used car market, this is insane. I mean... $15,000? I could see it. It’s low mileage, and it’s a Toyota. I trust it’ll be around for a while.

The fourth one is the one that does anal, right?
Everything works except the AC? That’s all you need to know.
As a man who has had periods in his life when the AC was broken, let me tell you exactly what that means: “I am so poor, I cannot maintain this car. I have let every piece of this car wear out, even the parts that separate man from beast. The tires are worn…
No! No, even at 55 dollars.
As a daily driver this is not worth 14k. It may only have 68 miles on it, but it’s still a 21 year old Plymouth Neon. It’s going to give you a lot more issues than a more modern used car that you can buy for 14k.
You and I definitely have different definitions of ‘fun to drive’.
As usual with these things, the odometer reading tells you what a joy it really is. And at 5,000, the answer is “not at all”.
Yeah, this thing would be better off getting scrapped.
I just can’t do it. It actually seems like a reasonable deal for a survivor that has got to be insanely rare these days. But I can think of about 100 things I’d rather spend $2K on. Reluctant ND.
Um no! Do you know the kinds of classic cars you can find for 16.5k? So many better options.
I believe this is unibody, so unless you are slapping it on a Jeep frame for some David Tracy style hijinx, rust is a killer.
Agreed. The body looks great. How hard can it be to fabricate a new frame, suspension, running gear, interior...
Had one. It was tons of fun..a great car. That said I went looking at current prices and was surprised to find where the high end is now. In the middle though are things like this nice example you can get in and drive for $5,500. You’ll easily have that in today’s subject ... after a lot of work.
I feel that people that want this are already covered at a cheaper price.
Instant No Dice! I can buy a freezer and a generator to power things for a thousand dollars, and this beat-to-shit Dodge van is probably worth $1000 tops on a good day. Not seeing anything here worth the asking price. Not. Even. Close.
This is silly.
Exactly my thinking. “NP for someone but ND for me” then you vote ND. That someone can vote NP.
No, just no. I wouldn’t give you 500 dollars for this piece of shit...wait, I don’t even want it for 5 dollars.
Yeah, the amount of CP votes is pretty ridiculous on this one. Would I pay 65k for it? No because I don’t want to deal with the maintenance on this. But if you’re looking for a ferrari then this is a good deal.
I think you summed it up well. I used to do all my own oil changes on every car we owned, but when you add up all the time driving to the store to buy supplies, the time on your Saturday afternoon doing the work and getting dirty, then having to take everything back and paying for a disposal, it’s just not worth it…
