I’m excited for the kids who are just now discovering Kate Bush’s oeuvre. She’s one of those musicians’ musicians who doesn’t quite get the recognition she deserves outside her peer group.

She’s written consistently haunting and beautiful music for nearly fifty years. Stunning voice, talented musician, composer, and dancer.

One thing that fuels the disparity is the lack of outlets that lend their writing and media channels to the reporting of missing Black children. The Root could become another voice for that.

I don’t think this makes anyone look like an asshole. Even if he did have a heart-to-heart with Grohl, Hawkins is his own man and makes his own decisions. If he didn’t want to tour, he wouldn’t tour. For all we know, maybe they agreed after this tour that things were going to change?

All I can say is I’m happy she’s just doing whatever the hell she wants. Whether it’s good, bad, a cry for help, whatever people are guessing...it’s not for me to decide. The girl is living, so let her live.
